Jesus Warns not to Fall from Grace
This post was made in reference to a comment posted to me concerning the video on WorldNetDaily by Richard Rives – JUST THE FACTS – dated November 11, 2014 “How Do You Know if You Know God?”
Have you considered the parables of the Lord Jesus Christ and His warnings?
Luke 12:40-46 “Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not. Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all? And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath. But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.”
The portion of the unbelievers is destruction and damnation not salvation. Spiritually speaking this example shows us that the servant knew his Lord’s will (God’s commandments) but he stopped keeping them, he stopped confessing and repenting when he did sin; thereby becoming an unrepentant sinner. Jesus was warning His disciples and others to be watching and to be ready for His return. This meant they were diligently keeping themselves from sinning and when they did sin, they would confess, repent and ask forgiveness as Jesus taught them in The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13; Luke 11:2-4).
Also the parable of the seeds cast by the sower?
Luke 8:13 “They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.”
These received the Word (Jesus said He is the Word)
These heard and believed Jesus
These received Jesus
These stopped believing (didn’t continue in the Word)
These when tried fell from grace and didn’t get back up again.
What about what Jesus commanded and warned the New Testament churches of who also had been partakers of the Holy Spirit?
Revelation 2:23 “And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.”
