Salvation is by Inheritance

This post was made in reference to¬† a comment posted to me concerning the video on WorldNetDaily by Richard Rives – JUST THE FACTS – dated November 11, 2014 “How Do You Know if You Know God?”

Salvation is by Inheritance through the keeping of God’s Everlasting Covenant.

“And God said unto Abraham,
Thou shalt keep My covenant therefore,
thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.”

– Genesis 17:9

God did not make a separate covenant for the Gentiles for inheriting salvation. The Gentiles have entered into the covenant that God made with Abraham. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the covenant that was given to Abraham.

That covenant contains many promises.

That the Messiah would come through Abraham

That Abraham would be the father of many nations:
i.e. Gentiles adopted in

That the Holy Spirit would be given

That they would have salvation though inheritance being the children of God

That we would be His people and He would be our God. (Plus many others)

Galatians 3:16
“Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made.
He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one,
And to thy seed, which is Christ.”

Galatians 3:18
“For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise:
but God gave it to Abraham by promise.”
The promise is the promises (blessings) of the Everlasting Covenant.

There was no law made that could give us life once we lost it through committing one sin. God’s promises to Abraham are the blessings of the keeping of the covenant. (“Covenants of promise”)

God gave us His holy covenant to keep to inherit eternal life. That covenant contains the gospel of Jesus Christ, confession, repentance, etc such as the moral laws and heavenly sanctuary laws.

Galatians 3:8
“And the scripture,
foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith,
preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying,
In thee shall all nations be blessed.”

Galatians 3:14
“That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”

Here are proof scriptures:

Ephesians 1:13
“In Whom ye also trusted,
after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation:
in Whom also after that ye believed,
ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,”

Ephesians 2:12
“That at that time ye were without Christ,
being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel,
and strangers from the covenants of promise,
having no hope, and without God in the world:”

Luke 24:49
“And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you:
but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem,
until ye be endued with power from on high.”
(also Acts 1:4, 2:3, 2:39)

Acts 13:23
“Of this man’s seed hath God
according to His promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:”

Acts 13:32-33
“And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers, God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that He hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.”

Acts 26:6-7
“And now I stand and am judged
for the hope of the promise made of God unto our fathers:

“Unto which promise our twelve tribes,
instantly serving God day and night, hope to come…”

Instantly serving God day and night = Keeping God’s Covenant

Romans 9:8
“That is, They which are the children of the flesh,
these are not the children of God:
but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.”
Children of the promise = Children of the covenant

Galatians 3:29
“And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed,
and heirs according to the promise.”

Examples of Abraham’s faithfulness in keeping God’s Commandments.

Hebrews 11:8
“By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.”

Hebrews 11:17
“By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac:

and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,”

James 2:21
“Was not Abraham our father justified by works,
when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?”
