God’s Laws are Fulfilled in Us
This post was made in reference to a comment posted to me concerning the video on WorldNetDaily by Richard Rives – JUST THE FACTS – dated November 11, 2014 “How Do You Know if You Know God?”
The law is not bondage, it is liberty for those who are walking after the spirit and not after the flesh. I also suspect that you believe that born again Christians must bring forth fruit (obedience/God’s good works) in order to signify true repentance and give solid evidence of their true conversion.
“That the righteousness of the law
might be fulfilled in us,
who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”
Fulfilled in us means to be accomplished and performed.
“For we are His workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus unto good works,
which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
“And being made perfect,
He became the author of eternal salvation
unto all them that obey Him;”
God the Father did say this is my beloved Son hear ye Him.
Hear what the Lord Jesus Christ says to His churches after His death, burial, resurrection and ascension into heaven:
from whence thou art fallen,
and repent, and do the first works;
or else I will come unto thee quickly,
and will remove thy candlestick out of his place,
except thou repent.”
“Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.”
“And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.”
“Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.”
“Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.”
“As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten:
be zealous therefore, and repent.”
Some in the churches of God have fallen from grace, they have fallen from the steadfastness of following the Holy Spirit, they have departed from the truth by obeying unrighteousness having resurrected the old man of sin.
God doesn’t chasten the guiltless, only those who are found guilty of breaking His laws and covenant. But in God’s great mercy and compassion He gives us all the warning to turn and repent; also giving us the power to do so by His Spirit.
